Head Wrestling Coach Olentangy Berlin High School

Heffernan, an English teacher, also a founder of the CWC, is the new head coach at Olentangy Berlin High School, Olentangy Local Schools' new, 4th high school.  Before that, Heffernan was the head coach at Delaware Hayes High School for 12 years; there, he coached 15 state qualifiers and 5 state placers; he lead the Pacers to 3 OCC team titles, 3 OHSAA Sectional titles, and 2 OHSAA Team Regional titles. He has been the OCC Coach-of-the-Year twice and was last year's Central District Wrestling Officials Association Coach-of-the-Year. Heffernan is also a coach of Team Ohio, Ohio's AAU Junior Olympic Team, which won the AAU National Title in 2014.  Heffernan wrestled for Ohio University where he was a 3x MAC placewinner and an NCAA National Qualifier. He was a 2x Illinois High School state qualifier and a state runner-up in 1994.  He also wrestled for the Illinois Junior National Freestyle team.  Heffernan lives in Powell with his wife, Misty; daughters, Madison and Brenna; step-daughter, Angelina; and step-son, Rylan.
